About Us

Forever Athlete was founded in 2021, but has always been deeply rooted in who its founder, Gerald Stockdale, is.

Gerald was born and raised in Talladega, Alabama.  He was born into a family of highly competitive athletes and naturally became one himself.   As a young man, Gerald played baseball, basketball and football, but eventually settled into football as his main sport as he accepted a scholarship to play at his now alma mater Alabama A&M.

“Sports have been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I always think of the fun I had with my teammates growing up.  From pee wee to high school to college the game was the game the grind just changed.”  

Although the drive to compete was a large factor of Gerald’s love for sports, the game has offered him so much more. 

“A lot of my closest friends are the same guys that were my teammates growing up.  The relationships that come from battling together on a court or a field, during practices and games, through wins and losses are really incomparable.  As an athlete you can go anywhere in the world and make bonds because you participated in a sport. It’s still the one thing that allows us to put our differences aside and go after a common goal.”

Now as a father and youth football coach Gerald is experiencing being an athlete from a whole new perspective.

“My kids have never seen me perform as an athlete, so they challenge me to shootouts, footraces, 1-on-1's, any and everything competitive thinking I’m too old to keep up with them, so naturally I have to show them that I still got it and that being an athlete is forever.”

This brand was born out of the love and appreciation for being an athlete.  From the experiences, the relationships, the lessons and now the fun the athlete inside never dies.
